International Studies & Programs

About Us

Community Volunteers for International Programs (CVIP) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization supported by the Office for International Students and Scholars at Michigan State University.

Our Mission

Our mission is to increase mutual cross-cultural understanding and goodwill between MSU's international students and visiting scholars and their families, and the greater Lansing community by organizing activities and programs that supplement and enhance specialized services offered by various units at MSU. CVIP has no affiliation with any religious group and has no political bias.

What We Do

CVIP promotes mutual cross-cultural education, understanding, appreciation and friendship between the greater Lansing community and Michigan State University's international students, scholars and their families through a variety of programs and services, which are free and open to all MSU international students and scholars.

Adult residents of the greater Lansing area who participate in any of CVIP programs or services are automatically granted membership in CVIP and will receive the CVIP Newsletter free of charge.
